Add a cookie banner, notices, footer legal links, and disclosures to your WordPress website
TermsFeed AutoTerms, the free WordPress plugin, adds 5 Compliance Kits that show visitors a cookie banner, a cookie notice, links to your legal pages, update notices, or an affiliate disclosure. Each compliance kit is a box on the TermsFeed > Compliance Kits screen of your WordPress admin, with its own "Enable" or "Disable" button and its own settings screen. Only the Links to Legal Pages kit is on after you install the plugin, and every other kit stays off until you turn it on.
The 5 Compliance Kits
Pick a kit by what you want visitors to see.
| Guide | Kit | What visitors see | After installation |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress Cookie Consent | Cookie Consent | A consent banner from TermsFeed Free Cookie Consent 4.2.0, with the vendor scripts you add held back until their category is allowed to run | Off |
| Add a Cookie Notice Bar to WordPress | Cookie Notice | A bar with your cookie message and a "Close" link, which does not ask for consent or hold back any script | Off |
| Add Legal Links to the WordPress Footer | Links to Legal Pages | A row of links to every published legal page at the bottom of each page | On |
| Announce Legal Page Updates in WordPress | Update Notices of Legal Pages | A bar that names the legal pages you changed within the period you set | Off |
| Add an Affiliate Disclosure in WordPress | Endorsements | A disclosure box before or after the content of a blog post | Off |
The vendor scripts belong to the Cookie Consent kit, so they print only while that kit is on. Set up the Cookie Consent kit with Add a Cookie Banner to WordPress, then add each tracking script with Block WordPress Scripts Until Consent.
Turn a compliance kit on or off
Click the "Enable" or "Disable" button in the kit box on the Compliance Kits screen of your WordPress admin. The button saves the setting with no "Save Changes" click, and a page cache shows the change once you clear it. The status in the box changes to "Enabled" or "Disabled", and a notice such as "Cookie Notice enabled." appears at the top of the screen. The "Configure" button in the same box opens the kit settings, and for the Cookie Consent kit it opens the Customization tab.
The Cookie Notice and Endorsements kits turn on only with this button. The Cookie Consent, Links to Legal Pages, and Update Notices kits carry an "Enabled" checkbox on their settings screen, which applies when you click the "Save Changes" button.
Style each compliance kit with CSS
Each compliance kit guide lists the style fields of that kit. Look up the CSS selectors and page containers of every kit except the Cookie Consent kit in TermsFeed AutoTerms CSS Classes and Containers.
