A third party is another party other than the primary two parties that in some way is involved in the primary party relationship. For example, if you have a credit card from a bank, you and the bank are the first and second parties involved. If you default on your credit card and the bank hires a law firm to collect the money owed, the law firm is now a third party to the contract between you and the bank.
