Personally identifiable information is any information about an individual that on its own or together with other pieces of information that can be used to identify an individual.
Examples of common personally identifiable information include but are not limited to last names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, identification numbers and birthdates. It is interchangeable with the concept of "personal information" and "personal data."
